金山：网络时代大跃进？
20天内推出2个网站――这是金山进军互联网的速度。5月11日，金山公司在京宣布，与联想共同注资，推出改版后的卓越网，定位于大型综合商务网站；5月30日，金山又在京发布逍遥酒店预订网，切入旅游电子商务领域。
在这中间，5月16日，金山发表“iWPS上网基础平台”白皮书，并希望以此软件促进全民上网运动。虽然iWPS软件还未见踪影，但金山设想的市场目标是，年内销售100万套。
5月的金山，一举发动进军互联网的“三大战役”，表现相当活跃，尤其是在纳斯达克大跌、网络股利空消息频传的情况下。有人称，金山几乎是迫不急待地扑向互联网，试图大开大凿互联网时代的金山。
不过，一度被视为民族软件业骄傲的金山，以如此密集的动作进入互联网，却没有赢得普遍的欢呼。对于金山近期的动向，一些知名IT网站更是讨论的如火如荼。有人质疑：进入两个陌生的领域做网站，金山想到过自己的优势没有？为了披上网络的新衣，金山是否在进行网络时代的大跃进？

搭上Internet的班车，金山比新浪们慢了几拍。
1998年以前，金山公司在软件开发方面名气很大，裘伯君更被视为能和微软对抗的民族软件业的英雄。那时的新浪（当时还叫四通利方），不过是一家中等规模的软件公司，王志东更多被看作是一个优秀的程序员，而不是他后来表现出来的商业天才。
如今，新浪在国内如日中天，并成功登陆美国纳斯达克，新浪和王志东几乎是被媒体轮番炒过；而裘伯君和他的金山公司不过是在去年下半年，以“红色正版风暴”吸引了些注意力，打出28元的低价，更让人感受到的是一份残酷与悲壮。
2年的河东河西，变化不可谓不大，而这一切只是因为网络。醒悟过来的金山，在今年五月份开始吹响全面转向互联网的号角，准备在互联网的金山中认真开掘一番。开掘的第一步，金山选择将卓越网（www.joyo.com）转型，变为大型综合商务网站。
此前的1999年，金山曾向互联网进行了第一笔投资，卓越网诞生。在号称个人网站“大哥大”高春辉的主持下，加之金山在软件行业的品牌，卓越很快成为国内著名的IT站点，以提供软件下载和IT资讯见长。在CNNIC的调查中，卓越网曾一度排名至33位。
到了今年4月份，高春辉从卓越辞职出走，传出卓越网要转型的消息。5月11日，金山总经理雷军在京以卓越网董事长的身份，宣布金山和联想共同注资，推出改版后的卓越网。据记者私下采访雷军，得知双方共同出资2000万元人民币，其中金山占有70％的股份。
改版后，卓越网来了一个180度的大转弯，要做大型综合商务网站。卓越网新任总经理王树彤表示，新版的卓越网定位在网上精品俱乐部，并提出“卓越e群”的概念。以前卓越网的“招牌菜”――软件下载和IT资讯，成了改版后卓越网的一个频道而保留下来。实际上，自高春辉后辞职后，卓越技术部先后走了十几人，做IT内容的精英流失大半，优势已几乎不存。
放弃了已经相当有知名度的IT站点，转向相对陌生的电子商务网站，金山这样做了。对于做软件起家的金山公司而言，做前者比后者肯定更有优势，也更为熟悉。也许金山觉得电子商务网站更容易建立起收益模式。
新改版后的卓越网站，所提出的象“e群”、“网上精品俱乐部”之类的概念，令人眼花缭乱。不过让人印象深刻的是，网上卖的书相当便宜，经常能低至三、四折。以至于有人怀疑，如果总是这样下去“烧钱”，卓越网能撑多久。

有关卓越网转型的争论还在继续，金山公司让业界再一次感到惊奇。5月30日，金山在京宣布，开通“逍遥酒店预订网”（www.xojo.com），进入到又一个金山相对陌生的领域。年轻的雷军在发言中称：“这是金山公司继卓越网之后，挺进互联网计划的又一重大举措。”
和一般网站开通仪式有所不同的，新闻发布会上，雷军或裘伯君既没有介绍逍遥网的团队组成，也没有安排时间给记者提问。网站介绍完以后，发布会也随之散去，给人的感觉比较匆忙。在私下与裘伯君聊天时，得知此次金山公司投入1000万元人民币。而雷军表示，金山进军旅游电子商务，主要是看好旅游网站在未来的巨大发展前景。逍遥网现在已经可以预订全国上百个城市千余家酒店客房。
一个做软件的企业，进军互联网第二步踩在旅游网站上，金山同样让人感到惊讶。据业内人士分析，在做旅游电子商务网站方面，不但对金山显得相对陌生，而且可以凭借的资源也相当有限，虽然金山称“逍遥网将依托金山公司的顶尖科技开发力量和丰富的市场资源”。
而独特的资源对于一家旅游网站来说，往往相当重要。象华夏旅游网、亿高神州网，都背靠国旅、中旅等大的国家级旅行社，在资金、客源和酒店的关系上，均有相当保证。而且华夏网还与香港炙手可热的Tom.com结盟，共同开拓内地的旅游市场。
此外据分析，旅游网站目前几乎是遍地开花，仅规模比较大的、经营酒店预订的就有近十家，金山此时杀入进来，时间上也显得稍晚了点。如何和它们竞争，逍遥网未必能做到真正的逍遥。

除去推出两大网站卓越网和逍遥网外，5月16日，金山公司发表“iWPS上网基础平台”白皮书，向新闻界和业界发出信号，表明iWPS这一囊括众多功能的软件平台即将问世。为配合这一软件的发售，金山还响亮地提出“全民上网运动”，金山希望通它来简化上网难度。
据了解，iWPS以那些没接触过网络的人为主要服务对象，将解决从拨号上网、网页浏览、文件编辑与传递、网络通讯、信息递送等一系列问题。
同做两个不太熟悉领域的网站相比，搞软件开发倒是金山的老本行。有人质疑，iWPS产品的影子还见着，金山已经喊得震天价响了，称其为“是迄今为止功能最为完整的Internet工作平台”。同时，金山对其在今年内的市场目标预期为100万套。在金山公司刚创办的《新金山》内部刊物的卷首文章中，已经自豪地提出：“我们相信，一年内，iWPS将成为中国目前最大的个人上网基础平台。”
而且据业内人士指出，所谓iWPS平台，不过是将IE浏览器与WPS的功能整合到一块，这方面微软均有极其成熟且市场占有率极高的产品；而且，即使在国内市场上，实达铭泰已经有和iWPS功能类似的I系列软件在市场上发行，金山希望的“全民上网运动”究竟能如何，iWPS能否年内卖出100万套，也是一个未知数。
卓越已经变脸，逍遥正在启动，iWPS将要出世。2000年5月，在向互联网转型方面，金山跨出了三大步。在业界曾举了十几年民族软件业大旗的金山，不知在向互联网转型的征途中，能否继续大旗不倒？
