Some American:
We’re well beyond politics. As many here have voiced, the American people want blood and we will have it.

I:
Have u American ppl feel the pain of Iraq when their children died because of lacking food and medicine? Have u American ppl feel the pain of Yugoslavia when their children have to face the radiation of U-Bomb?…
Let me tell u sth, and as far as i know, that’s true. During Gulf War, U.S. army have bombed many civilian air-raid shelters there. One time, they hit the biggest civilian air-raid shelter in Bagdad accurately with laser-guided missles, and all two thousand ppl inside died immediately. On the walls there left many struggling shadows, because the instant temperature inside the shelter was upto 3000 degrees, and the walls the ppl leaned on been burned to dark. Have u ever cried for them, for thousands and thousands of innocent civilians being killed by ur country? Maybe their families will also say, “hey, the Iraq/Yugoslavia people want blood and we will have it.”

Another American:
It is clear that the U.S. considers this an act of war. It is clear there will be a military response. What that response will be and who it will be directed at is what seems to be the uncertainty. I don’t think it’s uncertain at all. The U.S. is for all intents and purposes at war at this time (even if not technically). At war with who? With international terrorist organizations. Where does it say that the “enemy” has to be a political state? It is clear to me that the U.S. is not going to limit it’s retaliation to those directly responsible for this horrible act. The U.S. is going to strike any, possibly ALL, known terrorist hideouts/strongholds all over the world. It doesn’t matter if it’s in China, France, Iraq, or Pakistan. If it’s inside of a country that is our “Ally” such as France then I’m sure we’ll get their permission if not ask them to help or possibly have them carry out the strikes themselves. If a country refuses then it has been made clear that they will be considered no different from the terrorists they harbor and thus will become targets themselves. Some will say “My God man! That’s an act of war! You can’t just run around bombing ANY country you want!” To that I can only remind you that the U.S. ALREADY considers itself at war and if we are at war it is only natural that we are going to commit acts of war. Right now the lines are being drawn, sides are being picked. If you aren’t with us you sure as heck better stay out of our way or you’ll find yourself on the hit list. The best case scenario is that the international alliance being formed will strike terrorist organizations all over the world and the countries that contain them will not try to stop us. In that event this will eventually blow over and our “enemies” can bitch and complain all they want about how we violated their national sovereignty, etc., etc., etc. God help us if they actually try to stop us though. In that event it won’t “blow over”, instead it will escalate. Obviously any country that tries to shoot down our aircraft, cruise missiles, etc. will face the full power of the U.S. military and all of her allies. If an alliance is formed between these nations we could very well end up in a full scale world war. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. If it does however, I have no doubt that the U.S. is prepared to fight it. We aren’t going to back down as before in the name of world peace. World Peace is already shattered.

I:
It’s a shame that an person from so-called highly civilized nation said such war-maniac words.
If ur main objective is against terrorists all over the world, then let me ask u: why ur U.S. govenment support the terrorist of those not-Ally countries with weapons and medicines, and even train them with ur own hand?

Another American:
America’s number one priority, the one that overrides all others, is the preservation of the security, liberty, and well being of it’s citizens. We have many other objectives and ideals we strive for such as the spread of liberty elsewhere around the world but these are secondary. People say words such as you just did all the time. “It’s a shame that a so-called highly civilized nation still has the death penalty”, “It’s a shame that a so-called highly civilized nation has an armed populace.”, etc. You know what? We don’t care. This isn’t a popularity contest, the U.S. is NEVER going to do something it doesn’t want to because people in a different country think it’s “uncivilized”. Our leaders are elected by U.S. citizens and they represent and are responsible to them and only them. If we Americans want something and the rest of the world says “no” you know what? The leader is going to do what we tell him/her or (s)he will be replaced next election by someone who will. Americans want the right to bear arms, Americans want the right to have available the option of capital punishment, and in this case Americans want retribution. If this is good or evil you are free to decide, either way though I don’t care what others think. If you want to stand with us then great, I welcome you. If you don’t again that’s fine, just don’t get in our way. As for supporting terrorists all over the world then I refer you back to my first sentence. There are always threats to U.S. large and small. It is often in our best interest to support a small threat against a bigger threat. The world is not black and white. There is no absolute good on earth, not even the U.S. I’m sure we can both agree, and there is no absolute evil. Sometimes you have to ally with undesirable elements against a greater common threat, I don’t know why that’s so difficult for people to understand.

I:
From ur perspective, Japanese should bomb Perl Harbor, terroists should bomb New York, and all the other countries should form alliance to attack U.S., cause U.S. is their most dangerous enemy in military or economy or culture.
Hmmm, that sounds a cool idea indeed.
BTW: The main reason why U.S. helped Japan to rebuild is that they want to stick their heads in Asia. And I don’t think “Today Japan is dependent on the U.S”. When Japan’s Prime Minister Koizumi visited to the Yasukuni shrine for the war villains, have u American made any protest? Have u forget how many American were killed by those bastard Japanese?

Yet Another American:
And the mud flinging begins.
I cannot answer that question, and will not try. It is specualted that our own former president, Bill Clinton, sold nuclear secrets and/or weapons to China itself.
Don’t dare fling names around. Every single country has made its mistakes or commited acts of horrible violence. Do not try to belittle the U.S. with these claims, for they are claims every country has to face. I do not condone nor deny the possible assistance of the U.S. with any such organization, I however will not allow any nation to proclaim itself better than the U.S. in this regard because every nation has participated or is participating in its own such follies.
It is clear that our way of life has been attacked, and threatened. Can you deny us response? Prick us do we not bleed? Wrong us, do we not want revenge? Imagine your own livelihood threatened by a faceless coward. Could we expect you to not desire response?
And I try not to ignore the acts of terrorism that have occurred everywhere. I realize people live with terrorism everyday, and know it was truly a matter of time before such acts visited the U.S.
I believe I can say never has anything of this magnitude has occurred. Those that perished in car bombs or random attacks gave no less, but this was no car bomb. This was an deliberate attack on America itself, and her way of life.
We interpret too much in to President Bush’s words. We can not know the full extent of military action until it begins to take place. With every country apparently willling to help stamp out terrorism with one crushing wave, its quite possible the only fighting that comes from this will be attacks on known terrorist strongholds.
However, it is just as likely World War 3 will indeed erupt, regrettably. I have no desire to fight. But I would die fighting to protect my homeland, or for anyone else’s, from such cowardice and tyranny.

I:

What a ridiculous speculation! Maybe Clinton sold nuclear secrets and/or weapons to those Taiwan independent separatists.

Well said! But why haven’t u American thought this way when u bombed Iraq, Yugoslavia, etc.etc.etc.?
